With
today's modern kimono, it is the woman who enjoys the most
colorful and elaborate styles and patterns. A young unmarried
woman wears the furisode, which is the most colorful
of kimono. Furisode have long flowing sleeves that sometimes
reach to the ankles! Older women, or those who have married,
wear a kimono with short sleeves.
