Alan Gutierrez created his neo-realist painting using Watercolor Gouache. The work is titled, Sakura in Fairyland. The artist should first be congratulated for tackling the difficult traditional medium of watercolor gouache... he makes it look easy.
Such painting takes infinite skill and discipline, virtues the artist apparently possesses in spades. His composition, combined with a magnificent use of light and shadow is beyond reproach. It is indeed an honor to have an artist of Alan-san's caliber participating in our contest.
